2018 Women's Spring Renewal

God has indeed blessed us with many opportunities to share our faith in Jesus Christ. But special occasions like this allow believers to experience even more deeply the heavenly fragrance of His grace and mercy. The reminder of these gifts fortifies our collective hope to obtain God's promises for eternity and gives us renewed energy to continue striving toward that high calling. But just as crucial, is the aroma that we as individual disciples of Christ can carry with us here. Jesus sits at the right hand of the Father, it is our duty now to introduce to the world the beauty and love of Our Sweet Smelling Savior!

Scripture Reading: 2nd Corinthians 2:15-16

For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing. To the one we are the aroma of death leading to death, and to the other aroma of life leading to life. And who is sufficient for these things?

Powerful Sweet Smells: By Jan Blough

Close your eyes and remember
the sweet smell of fresh cut grass in the Spring.
Close your eyes and remember
the soothing aroma of a turkey slow roasting in the oven.
Close your eyes and remember
the fresh smell of pine as you walk in the forest.
Close your eyes and remember
the sweet smell of a precious baby in your arms.
Close your eyes and remember
how powerful those soothing aromas can be.
Close your eyes and remember
burnt offerings were a pleasing aroma to the Lord. (Numbers 29:2)
Close your eyes and remember
Christ loved us and gave himself for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God, (Ephesians 5:2)
Close your eyes and remember
aroma of life leading to life. (2 Corinthians 2:16)
Close your eyes and remember
how powerful this description from God truly is.
Close your eyes and remember when you smell fresh cut grass, a slow roasting turkey, or a precious baby, you will forever think what aroma is to God and the sweet smell of what Christ did for us.

Scripture Reading: EPHESIANS 5:1-2

Therefore be imitators of God as dear children.
And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.
